A video circulating on social media has sparked outrage after it showed a young man performing pull-ups inside the MRT, using the handlebar for support.
The clip, posted on Threads, captured the man mid-workout, though it is unclear whether he was aware he was being recorded or if his actions violated any laws.
The original poster (OP) expressed disbelief in the caption, writing: “People are so strange these days. If you want to be healthy, at least wait until you find a tree (to do pull-ups). I cannot brain.”
Authorities warn that those caught vandalising or damaging MRT property can face prosecution under the Local Government Act (Vandalism By-Laws 1991), which carries a fine of up to RM2,000 or a jail term of up to one year. Offenders may also be prosecuted under the Land Public Transport Commission Act 2010.
Netizens quickly voiced their disapproval in the comment section, criticising the man for his inappropriate behaviour on public transport.
