A video of a heated argument on a Singapore MRT train has gone viral after a passenger threatened to expose a woman online for placing her handbag on a seat.
The clip, shared on Instagram on January 18, shows a woman seated at the end of a row while several other seats around her remain empty.
The person filming confronted the seated woman, questioning why her bag was occupying a seat. She sarcastically asked if the bag had paid the fare and claimed she had requested the bag be moved, but was refused.
The seated woman responded by asking if the videographer had a problem and whether she needed medication, even offering some if necessary. Both parties then pushed the handbag back and forth.
The videographer insisted she had paid for the seat, while the seated woman replied that she did not care. As the argument escalated, the videographer threatened to make the woman “famous on the internet,” scolding her for lacking manners.
The video ends as the train stops at a station, with the seated woman getting up and leaving, while the videographer continues scolding her.
The post, later shared on sgfollowsall, was described as showing “one side of the story.” Netizens largely criticised the videographer, noting that the train did not appear crowded and that filming and uploading the dispute was unnecessary.
