Ammar Ahyan, the eldest son of well-known entrepreneur Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri, has said he believes his father has the potential to become a capable government minister, citing his strong background in business and leadership qualities.
The 18-year-old said his father’s experience in the private sector could help improve government efficiency and bring better management practices to public administration.
He added that Aliff Syukri’s approach to business, particularly his emphasis on avoiding wasteful spending, could translate into more prudent use of public funds if applied in governance.
“I’m not saying this just because he is my father. I would vote for him because I believe he is a very good leader,” he was quoted as saying in an interview with mStar.
Ammar’s appearance at the recent UMNO 80th Convention also drew attention on social media, sparking discussion among netizens.
He said his attendance was part of his interest in understanding political developments ahead of his eligibility to vote in the next general election.
Ammar added that he wants to observe how leaders engage with young people and shape policies that impact the younger generation as he prepares for his first voting experience in PRU16.
