Bad Bunny Reclaims Spotify Crown, Beats Taylor Swift in 2025 Wrapped

Date:

Spotify Wrapped is back for the holiday season — and this year brings a big shake-up at the top. Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny has reclaimed his crown as Spotify’s most-streamed artist of 2025, dethroning Taylor Swift after her two-year reign.

The streaming platform unveiled its annual Wrapped breakdown on Wednesday (Dec 3), giving users their personalised insights while also revealing global listening trends. Wrapped shows each listener’s top artists, songs, genres and albums, along with the biggest performers worldwide.

Bad Bunny dominated the year with more than 19.8 billion streams, securing the global top spot for the fourth time. Swift follows in second place, with The Weeknd, Drake and Billie Eilish rounding out the top five.

Swift, who led globally in 2023 and 2024, had previously broken Bad Bunny’s three-year streak — but 2025 marks his return to the throne.

In the US, however, Swift still leads. She is followed by Drake, Morgan Wallen and Kendrick Lamar, with Bad Bunny ranking fifth.

Globally, the most-streamed album was Bad Bunny’s Debí Tirar Más Fotos. It is followed by the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard And Soft, SZA’s SOS Deluxe: LANA and Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet.

In the US, Wallen’s I’m The Problem takes the top spot.

The global most-streamed song of 2025 is Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s duet Die With A Smile, with over 1.7 billion streams.
Other top global tracks include Billie Eilish’s Birds Of A Feather, Mars & Rosé’s Apt, Alex Warren’s Ordinary, and Bad Bunny’s DtMF.

In the US, Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s Luther tops the list.

This year, Spotify has added several new features, including:

  • Top Albums
  • Fan Leaderboard, ranking fans based on their streaming of an artist
  • Listening Age, comparing habits with one’s age group
  • Wrapped Party, an interactive comparison feature

Spotify has also revived fan favourites like Top Genres and enhanced features such as Top Songs with stream counts and a Top Song Quiz.

Major global stars continue to dominate Spotify Wrapped — no surprise given their presence on the platform’s influential playlists and massive fanbases. For independent artists, reaching Spotify’s global rankings requires billions of streams.

Streaming remains the music industry’s biggest revenue source, making up 84% of US music revenue, according to the RIAA. Spotify leads the global market with 713 million users and 281 million subscribers across more than 180 markets — a sharp increase from last year’s figures.
