Benny Blanco addressed a surprising social media frenzy over his feet during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! just days after fans urged his wife, Selena Gomez, to divorce him over allegedly “filthy feet.” The 37-year-old record producer had appeared in the pilot episode of his new podcast, Friends Keep Secrets, sitting barefoot on a sofa with dirt visible on the bottoms of his feet, which quickly caught the attention of viewers.
During the talk show, Kimmel jokingly brought up the situation, showing a photo from the episode and remarking on the focus fans placed on Blanco’s feet. “I neglected something important because there is something that turned up as people were watching your multimedia experience… people seem to be fascinated with the idea that Benny’s feet are very dirty,” Kimmel said.
Blanco immediately defended himself, insisting the dirt was due to the filming environment. “Okay, first of all, it’s the facility’s fault, not mine!” he exclaimed, pointing out that crew members had been moving in and out of the studio on the first day of filming. He then removed one of his boots to show his very clean foot to the audience, even encouraging someone to zoom in for proof. The bottom of his foot was also revealed to be spotless, drawing laughter and applause from the live crowd.

The pilot episode had sparked strong reactions online, with some viewers calling Blanco “disgusting” and encouraging Gomez—who married him in 2025—to end their marriage.
