BLACKPINK’s Jisoo marked her 31st birthday on Jan 3 by hosting an intimate yet lavish celebration for fans at Haidilao in South Korea.
The private party welcomed 103 Blinks, who were selected through a raffle, and treated them to an all-you-can-eat hotpot feast — fully paid for by Jisoo herself. Fans enjoyed unlimited refills, including premium ingredients such as Korean beef costing more than S$36 per serving, as well as shrimp paste. Reports estimate that each table’s bill came to around S$500.
The birthday surprise extended well beyond the meal. Every attendee received two clothing items from Self-Portrait, along with event-exclusive merchandise, snacks and special photo cards.
Fans also shared that Jisoo personally prepared small fruit cakes for each guest and organised a lucky draw. Five fans walked away with major prizes, including a Nintendo Switch, an iPad, and an iPhone 17 Pro Max.
To ensure everyone felt included, translators fluent in Korean, English and Chinese were on hand. Jisoo also made a point of circulating around the venue, stopping at each table to chat and interact with fans.
One light-hearted moment that quickly went viral saw Jisoo helping fans mix their dipping sauces — and generously filling an entire saucer with coriander. The gesture earned her the playful nickname “Coriander Queen”, with fans joking that they would happily eat the polarising herb just for her.
After the event ended, Jisoo stepped outside to greet fans who had been unable to attend and recorded a video singing a birthday song with them — a heartfelt gesture that drew widespread praise online.
The celebration served as yet another reminder of the warmth and generosity that have endeared Jisoo to fans worldwide.
