Céline Dion Gets Her Own Barbie Doll Inspired By Iconic 1998 Oscars Look

Date:

Canadian music superstar Céline Dion has been immortalised as a Barbie doll, with Mattel unveiling a collectible inspired by one of her most memorable red-carpet and stage looks.

The doll recreates Dion’s appearance at the 1998 Academy Awards, where she performed “My Heart Will Go On”, the hit song from Titanic, wearing a navy blue gown and a blue diamond necklace.

The miniature tribute captures the singer’s signature outfit, giving fans a chance to own a piece of her celebrated musical history. The doll is available to purchase online for US$92.

The announcement has excited fans, particularly in Quebec, where Dion was born. At Montreal’s Barbie Expo, one fan welcomed the addition, saying it was about time the singer joined the collection alongside other major stars, including Cher and Beyoncé.

“It looks a lot like her. It’s really, really accurate,” one teenage visitor told Global News, describing the doll as beautiful and saying Dion deserved the recognition.

Dion joins a growing collection of celebrity-inspired dolls and fashion figures celebrating famous singers and cultural icons.

The release also comes as the 58-year-old singer makes her long-awaited return to live performances. Last month, she launched a sold-out residency in Paris, marking her first full-length concert in six years.

Dion had previously revealed that she was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare disorder that affects mobility. Her return to the stage has been a significant moment for fans who have waited years to see her perform again.

Organisers at Montreal’s Barbie Expo said they had yet to confirm whether or when the new Céline Dion doll would be added to their collection.
