Videos circulating online show Ariana walking the yellow carpet arm-in-arm with Cynthia and fellow co-star Michelle Yeoh, greeting fans along the way. After Ariana blew a kiss to a fan on one side, a young man jumped the barricade on the opposite side and leaped toward her, wrapping his arm around the singer. Cynthia immediately intervened, yanking the intruder away until security took over, while both Cynthia and Michelle comforted Ariana. The pop star soon recovered, continuing down the carpet with Cynthia’s protective arm around her.
The fan, who goes by “Pyjama Man” on social media, later confirmed his identity in a Nov. 13 Instagram Story, stating, “I am free after being arrested.”
This incident highlights the bond between Cynthia and Ariana, which has been evident since they began working together on Wicked. Speaking at a Canva event in April, Cynthia said, “There’s a wonderful synergy when you’re working with a person who gets it…they can look in your eyes and know exactly what you need, when you need it, without you having to say it.”
