National songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin was honoured with the Melaka Arts and Culture Icon Award at a ceremony held tonight.
She said the recognition serves as motivation for her to continue creating and contributing to the development of arts, culture, and tourism in the historic state.
“I am deeply touched and would like to thank the Melaka state government for this honour. If there are opportunities and invitations, insya-Allah I would be happy to participate, especially in initiatives involving traditional songs that reflect Melaka’s identity,” she said.
Siti Nurhaliza made the remarks during the New Year’s Eve 2026 celebration and the launch of Visit Melaka Year (TMM) 2.0 at Encore Melaka in Klebang.
Commenting on the popular song Senandung Anak Melaka, she said she remains open to future collaborations aimed at promoting traditional music.
At the same event, the song’s composer, Mohd Fauzi Mohammad, was recognised as Tokoh Pemerkasaan Seni Tradisional Melaka for his contributions to traditional arts.
Meanwhile, Melaka Tourism Friendship Ambassador Datuk Fan Bingbing received the Melaka International Cultural Diplomacy Icon Award in recognition of her significant role in promoting Melaka’s culture and tourism on the global stage.
The awards were presented by the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka, Tun Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam.
