Ed Sheeran Shows Off Chiseled Six-Pack in Men’s Health UK

Date:

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, beloved for his heartfelt lyrics and acoustic-driven music, has unveiled a strikingly different side of himself in a recent shoot for Men’s Health UK. The 34-year-old revealed a toned six-pack, sculpted chest, and tattooed biceps after embracing a disciplined fitness and nutrition routine following the birth of his daughters, Lyra and Jupiter, with wife Cherry Seaborn.

Despite his dramatic transformation, Sheeran insists he remains the same at heart. “I am a pizza-eating, beer-guzzling smoker, but that’s just not my reality as a parent in my thirties,” he said. The father of two emphasized moderation, explaining that he still enjoys wine and meals, just not daily indulgence.

Sheeran credited fatherhood as the turning point in his lifestyle. “When Lyra was two weeks old, I realized I shouldn’t drink if I wanted to handle nights and be a responsible dad. I wanted to feel and look good and avoid back pain when picking up my kids,” he said. The desire to be active for his family also motivated him to maintain his professional performance, feeling “superhuman” on stage.

The star’s fitness regimen includes regular gym sessions, reformer Pilates, and a carefully managed diet. He highlighted that Pilates is accessible to anyone starting out, offering a gentle introduction to fitness. Observing friends like Stormzy also inspired Sheeran to step up his routine. “I saw him doing a hundred press-ups before a tour show and thought, ‘What is this about?’ It definitely motivated me,” he said.

Reflecting on his past, Sheeran admitted that his twenties were unhealthy despite professional success. “Wellness is a direct mirror to mental health,” he said. “I’d wake up and look in the mirror and feel gross.”

Sheeran also acknowledged the importance of maintaining a personal connection with fans. “I’ve always been grateful that people are interested in my music. Even when playing small venues, I want to engage with them because of the bond through songs and memories,” he explained.

The full interview appears in the next issue of Men’s Health UK, on sale from December 23, and is also available on the magazine’s website.
