Gotta Visit ‘Em All: Japan’s Outdoor Pokémon Park Coming in 2026

Japanese entertainment company Yomiuri Land and major newspaper The Yomiuri Shimbun have announced the launch of PokePark Kanto, the first-ever permanent outdoor theme park dedicated to Pokémon. Set to open in spring 2026, the park will be located within the Yomiuriland amusement park, nestled in the scenic Tama Hills that span Inagi, Tokyo, and Kawasaki.

A collaborative effort between The Pokémon Company, Yomiuri Land, and The Yomiuri Shimbun, PokePark Kanto will span approximately 2.6 hectares and promises an immersive experience with over 600 Pokémon characters. The park will be divided into areas such as Pokémon Forest, which utilizes the natural landscape to bring the world of Pokémon to life, and Sedge Town, where visitors can look forward to interactive experiences, character meet-and-greets, and Pokémon-themed parades.

Advance ticket sales are expected to begin in late 2025, giving fans plenty of time to prepare for what is sure to be a one-of-a-kind destination for Pokémon lovers of all ages.
