Halle Berry has made it clear that she no longer feels the need to pretend satisfaction in her intimate life, saying she has stopped faking orgasms.
Speaking on the Sex With Emily podcast, which premieres Feb. 24, the Oscar-winning actress reflected on past experiences where she felt pressured to prioritise her partner’s feelings over her own. She admitted that in the past, women often felt compelled to claim they had reached climax to boost a partner’s confidence.
“We had to get there so that he felt good about bringing us to orgasm,” she said, adding that doing so placed a partner’s needs above their own. Now, however, Berry believes intimacy should be mutually fulfilling. “We both deserve to have this be a mutually enjoyable experience,” she shared, stressing the importance of equality in relationships.
At 59, Berry says she no longer worries about satisfaction in her relationship with fiancé Van Hunt. In a previous interview, she described falling deeply in love with him before becoming physically intimate, calling the experience “life-changing” and “magical.”
Berry, who was previously married to David Justice, Eric Benét and Olivier Martinez, has two children — daughter Nahla with Gabriel Aubry and son Maceo-Robert with Martinez. Reflecting on her past relationships, she said she has learned valuable lessons from three divorces and now feels she has found the right partner.
She previously shared that after multiple failed marriages, she was prepared to remain single if the right person did not come along. However, she believes the universe eventually answered her hopes when Hunt entered her life in 2020.
