Katy Perry Denies Sexual Assault Allegations Made By Ruby Rose

Date:

Pop star Katy Perry has strongly denied allegations made by actress Ruby Rose, who claimed she was sexually assaulted by the singer nearly two decades ago.

Rose, 40, made the allegations in a series of posts on Threads on Sunday (April 12), responding to a separate social media post referencing Perry’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s Coachella 2026 performance.

In her posts, Rose said the alleged incident took place at a nightclub in Melbourne when she was in her 20s, claiming it had taken her “almost two decades” to speak publicly about what happened.

She wrote that Perry “sexually assaulted me at Spice Market Nightclub in Melbourne”, adding that she no longer cared about public opinion regarding the singer.

Rose further stated that trauma and sexual assault had deeply impacted her, and said she was grateful to have found the courage to speak out.

In subsequent posts, she provided further details of the alleged incident and said she had previously altered how she described the experience publicly, calling it a “funny little drunk story” at the time.

Rose also claimed she remained silent for a period after Perry later agreed to assist her with a US visa application, adding that she now intends to report her experiences.

She acknowledged that the alleged events may be outside the statute of limitations but said she still intended to pursue action and would update her followers on the process.

In response, Perry’s representative issued a firm denial, describing the allegations as “categorically false” and “dangerously reckless lies”.

The statement also claimed that Rose had a history of making serious public allegations that had previously been denied by those involved.

The claims have since sparked widespread discussion online, with social media users divided over the accusations and the response from Perry’s camp.
