Kelly Clarkson Says Goodbye to Talkshow After 7 Seasons to Focus on Kids

Date:

Kelly Clarkson has announced that The Kelly Clarkson Show will conclude after its seventh season. The singer and talk show host shared the news on Monday, Feb. 2, via her Instagram account, explaining that she is stepping away to prioritize her children.

“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at The Kelly Clarkson Show, both in Los Angeles and New York,” Clarkson wrote. “There have been so many amazing moments over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful to our incredible band and crew, all the talent who have shared their time with us, the fans who have supported the show, and NBC for being such a supportive partner.”

Clarkson emphasized that her decision was motivated by family: “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives. This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show.”

The announcement comes months after the death of Clarkson’s ex-husband, talent manager Brandon Blackstock, who passed away in August from cancer. Clarkson shares daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remington Alexander, 9, with him.

The Kelly Clarkson Show will continue to air through Fall 2026, featuring special guest hosts. Clarkson reassured fans that “this isn’t goodbye” and confirmed she plans to continue releasing music and appearing as a judge on The Voice.

Since its premiere in 2019, the show has become known for its popular Kellyoke segment, where Clarkson performs covers of hit songs, earning praise for her powerhouse vocals. Fans often refer to the “Kelly Clarkson Effect” when she elevates a song with her performance.

Over its seven-year run, The Kelly Clarkson Show has won 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four consecutive wins for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and Outstanding Talk Show Host. The show has also received accolades from the People’s Choice Awards, Gracie Awards, Webby Awards, and the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild, alongside nominations from the Critics’ Choice Awards, MTV Movie & TV Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, and the Writers Guild of America Awards.

Clarkson concluded her statement by thanking fans: “For now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.”
