Actress and entrepreneur Wawa Zainal has revealed that the cost of building her dream mansion with her husband, actor Aeril Zafrel, has reached an eight-figure sum.
Wawa, whose real name is Nur Hawa Zainal Abidin, 34, admitted the figure was steep, especially with the rising price of construction materials.
“The cost of the house is really high. I can say it’s in the eight-figure range. But you know how it is, everything is expensive these days,” she told mStar.
The luxury home, designed in a French Luxury concept, is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by December next year. The mansion will feature 12 rooms, with most of the design ideas coming from Aeril, while Wawa focuses on running their businesses.
“We discussed the design with the interior designer, but most of the ideas came from Aeril. I didn’t want to overthink it because I want to concentrate on business.
“But once the house is being built, sometimes I feel regretful. I ask myself, what’s the point of such a big house? We’ll see when it’s completed whether I still feel the same,” she said with a laugh.
Wawa also admitted that the long construction period has been stressful at times, but she chooses not to dwell on it.
“The house is still under construction, and I know it will take a long time. So, I just try to set it aside and not stress too much,” she added.
Beyond their dream home, Wawa shared her bigger aspirations — to clear off their bank loans and extend help to those in need. She also dreams of buying a home for each of her siblings.
“After this, I just want to live peacefully. I want to settle all the bank debts and help more people in need.
“My next dream, if God wills it, is to buy a house for each of my siblings,” she said.
