Meghan Trainor Breaks Silence On Weight Loss Backlash: “I’ve Never Felt Better”

Date:

Meghan Trainor is speaking out after facing public scrutiny over her recent weight loss.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight published on Nov. 12, the 31-year-old singer said she has been prioritizing her health more than ever following the births of her children.

“I’m literally, for the first time ever after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level, and I’ve never felt better. I look incredible. I feel great,” Trainor said. “And that’s when people attack me.”

The All About That Bass hitmaker stressed that her wellness journey is centred on improving her health. “I’m taking care of myself,” she added. “I have to find a way to not be affected by that.”

Trainor previously addressed criticism in March, confirming on Instagram that she began using Mounjaro (tirzepatide), a GLP-1 medication, as part of her post-pregnancy health plan. She said she started the treatment after welcoming her second child with her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, alongside guidance from a dietician, lifestyle changes and a personal trainer.

“I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me,” she said at Billboard’s 2025 Women in Music Awards. “Yes, I used science and support — shoutout to Mounjaro — and I’m so glad I did because I feel great.”

Trainor released “Still Don’t Care,” the lead single from her upcoming album Toy With Me, on Wednesday. She told PEOPLE the song was inspired by the negative comments she received online about her changing appearance.

“People started saying I’m too thin or unrecognizable,” she said. “I’ve been so focused on my health and fitness, and I’ve never felt better. So I was confused and sad — it almost felt worse.”

The Grammy winner said the new single serves as “exposure therapy,” helping her process and release the criticism. “Let me think about it one more time. Nope — I still don’t care,” she said.
