Robert Pattinson Confirms He’ll Jump Straight Into The Batman Part II

Date:

Robert Pattinson has given fans a promising update on The Batman Part II, much to the excitement of DC Comics and DC Studios followers.

The 39-year-old actor, who has had a packed schedule this year, revealed in an interview with GQ that he will jump straight into filming the sequel once he finishes his other projects, which include Prime Time, The Drama, Here Comes the Flood, Dune: Part Three, and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

“I did another movie called Prime Time, then I’m doing another one,” Pattinson said. “And then, basically, the second I finish this, I start doing [The Batman: Part II].”

Fans are eager for a start date, but what is confirmed is that James Gunn and Matt Reeves are targeting an October 1, 2027 release for the film. Unlike other projects in the DC Universe, this sequel belongs to the Elseworlds branch, still overseen by Gunn.

Returning to the cast are Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, and Barry Keoghan, who will expand on his Joker role first teased in a deleted scene from the first film.

Reeves has also enlisted a creative talent from the Star Wars universe to help realize his vision, and Pattinson is reportedly working on getting back into peak form for the role, having slimmed down to a 27-inch waist for his other projects. Reeves noted some initially worried he might be too skinny for the cowl—but there’s confidence he’s ready to take on Gotham once more.

The stakes are high for The Batman Part II, especially amid the corporate merger between Netflix and Warner Bros., making the sequel’s success crucial. With other DC stars like David Corenswet’s Superman and Milly Alcock’s Supergirl entering the scene, Pattinson’s Batman is expected to deliver the blockbuster punches and Batarangs fans have come to anticipate.
