Netflix’s animated sensation K-Pop Demon Hunters has officially reached a new milestone, becoming Netflix’s most-watched film ever, and its popularity continues to soar with pop-up stores appearing around the globe. Riding the wave of its success, the fictional boy group from the series, Saja Boys, is reportedly set to debut as a real-life band.
The Korea Times reports that all five vocalists of Saja Boys have recently joined the Federation of Korean Music Performers (FKMP). Interestingly, while the members are primarily based outside South Korea, their registration with FKMP suggests plans for major activities and promotions within Korea.
Cho Hyun, head of FKMP’s overseas database team, emphasized the significance of the move: “In a time when K-pop content is spreading worldwide, it is meaningful that artists active mainly overseas have voluntarily joined FKMP. As music produced and released in Korea is consumed globally, FKMP will continue to serve as a central platform to ensure that both domestic and overseas artists receive the rights they deserve.”
Saja Boys’ transition from animated characters to a real-world K-pop group marks another exciting chapter for the franchise, bridging the gap between fiction and reality while riding the unstoppable K-pop wave.
