Police are wrapping up their investigation into the case involving local singer Shila Amzah, who was allegedly verbally attacked by a veteran artiste during a private event. Kuala Lumpur Deputy Police Chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan said the investigation paper is expected to be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor (DPP) by today (July 15) for review and further action.
Responding to questions on possible charges, Mohamed Usuf said the decision would be left entirely to the discretion of the DPP.
“The next course of action will depend on the DPP’s assessment and directives,” he added.
So far, police have recorded four statements — including from the complainant — to assist with the probe. Mohamed Usuf noted that more witnesses may be called in if needed.
The case drew public attention after Shila posted an emotional message on social media last week, claiming she was humiliated by a senior figure in the industry at a private function. The incident sparked a wave of support from fans and reignited discussions on respectful conduct within the entertainment scene.
