“The Rumors Are True!” Netflix Announces Victorious Spinoff Hollywood Arts

Date:

Trina Vega is heading back to Hollywood Arts! Netflix has officially announced Hollywood Arts, a brand-new Victorious spinoff starring Daniella Monet, who reprises her beloved role as Trina Vega — now returning to her alma mater as an unqualified substitute teacher. According to the official synopsis, Trina will find herself both clashing with and unexpectedly inspiring a new generation of talented students.

On Friday, Oct. 24, Netflix released behind-the-scenes photos and confirmed the main cast lineup for the 26-episode series, which begins filming this month in Vancouver. Hollywood Arts will premiere on Netflix in 2026, before streaming on both Nickelodeon and Paramount+.

Monet, 36, expressed her excitement about revisiting the character that launched her career. “Coming back as Trina alongside such a dynamic, powerful cast of newcomers is something I feel very lucky and grateful to do,” she said. “Victorious was life-changing for all of us — our cast is forever bonded by that experience — and to think I have an opportunity to carry that legacy forward is beyond words. As an actress, producer, and mom, I’m so eager to create something we can all be proud of.”

The new generation of Hollywood Arts students will be played by Alyssa Miles (Hanging Out with Alyssa and Xavier), Emmy Liu-Wang (Raven’s Home), Peyton Jackson (Woman in the Yard), Erika Swayze (School Spirits), and Martin Kamm (Unsung Hero). Yvette Nicole Brown will also guest star.

Behind the camera, Jake Farrow and Samantha Martin serve as showrunners, writers, and executive producers, with Jonathan Judge directing and executive producing. Monet will also step into an executive producer role for the first time.

The spinoff comes more than a decade after Victorious ended in 2013. The original Nickelodeon hit, which ran from 2010 to 2013, starred Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande, Elizabeth Gillies, Leon Thomas III, Avan Jogia, and Matt Bennett. Hollywood Arts marks the second official spinoff from the Victorious universe following Sam & Cat.

Netflix and Nickelodeon confirmed the news with an announcement video showing Monet and Brown on set, alongside glimpses of the iconic Hollywood Arts campus. In another clip, Monet playfully holds up two signs reading, “The rumors are true” and “Hollywood Arts is in production.”

For fans feeling nostalgic, the original Victorious series is currently streaming on Netflix — perfect for a rewatch before Hollywood Arts arrives in 2026.
