School staff have been called in to give statements in connection with a case involving a Form Three student who fell from a hostel building in Sabak Bernam yesterday.
Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Shazeli Kahar, said investigations are ongoing, and several statements have been recorded to assist the police inquiry.
“Investigations are still ongoing, and statements from various individuals, including school personnel, have been taken to aid the police investigation,” he told Astro AWANI on Wednesday.
Yesterday, Selangor police confirmed receiving a report regarding the incident, prompting the opening of a case under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.
Shazeli added that the investigation covers multiple aspects, including student safety, hostel management, and the social background of the victim and surrounding peers.
He emphasized that any speculation regarding the cause of the incident, including bullying allegations, is too early to confirm.
Earlier reports stated that the Form Three student was in critical condition after reportedly falling from the third floor of the school hostel in Sabak Bernam.
