Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman is winning hearts online after turning up at actress Bella Astillah’s children’s birthday party dressed as Superman.
A viral TikTok video shows the 32-year-old politician being warmly welcomed by guests as he arrived in costume, joining in the animated movie-themed celebration. Bella, 31, came as Disney’s Moana, while her children – Ayden, 8, and Ara, 5 – dressed up as Iron Man and Lilo from Lilo & Stitch respectively.
Netizens were quick to praise Syed Saddiq’s cheerful spirit and his efforts to bond with the children. One heartwarming clip of little Ara smiling beside him melted hearts online, with many applauding his presence and genuine connection with the family.
Comments poured in, with one user saying, “I really respect his efforts. Ayden looks very comfortable and happy. Bella and her family also look happier.” Another quipped, “YB came to the party dressed as Superman. This means whenever Bella and her kids are in trouble, he’ll be there for them.”
Rumours of a budding romance between Syed Saddiq and Bella began swirling earlier this year after the duo appeared together in a Hari Raya campaign for a local fashion brand.
On June 25, Bella was also spotted at the Court of Appeal in Putrajaya, offering support to Syed Saddiq as he awaited a ruling in his RM1.2 million corruption case. He was acquitted of all charges that day. The next day, during a TikTok livestream, he referred to Bella as an “extraordinary woman,” saying, “Whatever hardship I’ve faced is nothing compared to what she has gone through.”
Bella was previously married to Singaporean actor Aliff Aziz. They share two children and divorced for the second time on June 13, 2024, following Aliff’s involvement in a khalwat case with local actress Ruhainies.
