Following a shocking sex scandal in mainland China involving a cross-dressing man dubbed the “Nanjing Red Sister,” who allegedly had sexual relations with over 1,600 men and secretly recorded and sold videos for profit, a similar case has recently emerged in Taiwan.
Netizens have exposed a figure known by the alias “Weiwei,” a transgender woman active in the Taipei and New Taipei City area. Using her charming appearance and exaggerated sexual skills, Weiwei frequently meets young men and secretly films their intimate encounters, later selling the footage online. She reportedly uses free sex as bait, making it difficult for victims to anticipate the scheme.
According to insiders, “Weiwei” is a third-gender individual who has been active in northern Taiwan for several years. She targets mostly young, fit men, inviting them under the pretense of casual sex. Throughout their encounters, Weiwei films the sessions from the side. These recordings are then edited and distributed through social media platforms, reaching a scale and explicitness surpassing typical online adult content.
Some buyers of Weiwei’s videos have revealed that the footage was collected over several years and sold on platforms like X (formerly Twitter), with prices ranging from several hundred to over a thousand Taiwanese dollars per video. Bulk purchases come with discounts. Customers were even provided with catalogs listing available content, indicating a highly organized underground operation that has shocked many with its professionalism.
Though recent sales activity appears to have ceased, the “digital footprint” of these videos continues to circulate online, causing concern among numerous victims. Reportedly, the videos feature a variety of men, including handsome young men, muscular individuals, and even some known basketball players, amplifying the controversy surrounding “Weiwei” to a level comparable to the “Nanjing Red Sister” scandal in China.
