Prime Minister and Finance Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in presenting the Belanjawan 2026 Malaysia MADANI, announced a critical allocation to accelerate development in the nation’s heartland. A substantial amount of RM3.3 Billion has been dedicated solely to the Projek Prasarana Asas Desa (Basic Rural Infrastructure Projects).

The RM3.3 billion allocation will be channeled to several key development initiatives, which include:

  • Improving and expanding village roads and rural connectivity to enhance accessibility and economic linkages.
  • Prioritizing essential utilities, with a specific focus on extending clean water and electricity supply to small villages in Sabah and Sarawak.
  • Upgrading local safety and infrastructure through the construction and maintenance of village bridges and village street lights.
