The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has declared a dividend rate of 6.15% for 2025 for both conventional and Shariah-compliant savings accounts, slightly down from last year’s 6.3%. Despite the marginally lower rate, the total dividend payout is projected to reach RM79.6 billion, benefiting millions of contributors nationwide.
For conventional savings, the absolute payout has actually increased compared to 2024, when EPF distributed RM63.05 billion at a 6.3% rate. This growth reflects the continued expansion of funds under EPF management, even as percentage returns moderated.
Shariah-compliant savings (Syariah savings) recorded a dividend of 6.15% in 2025, down from 6.3% in 2024. However, the total payout has risen to RM12.5 billion this year from RM10.19 billion previously, highlighting the increasing contribution base.
Looking back over the past decade, EPF’s conventional savings dividends have varied in line with global economic conditions. Rates ranged from 6.35% in 2013, reaching a decade-high of 6.75% in 2014, before fluctuating in subsequent years—dipping to 5.2% in 2020 and recovering to 6.3% in 2024. For Syariah savings, introduced in 2017, dividend rates have moved between 4.75% in 2022 and 6.4% in the inaugural year, with last year’s 6.3% marking the strongest performance since inception.
EPF members can view their updated 2025 statements from February 28 onwards via the KWSP i‑Akaun portal, with authorities encouraging members to review their accounts for accurate records.
This year’s dividend announcement underscores EPF’s sustained fund growth and its commitment to providing consistent returns to contributors despite global market volatility.
