1 Dead, 7 Injured After Tesla Crashes Into Cement Truck And Motorbikes

Date:

A major traffic accident occurred this afternoon in Pingtung, Taiwan, resulting in one death and seven injuries. A white Tesla crashed into a cement mixer truck and two motorcycles, causing devastating damage. The violent impact reduced the Tesla to a wreck, and the driver was rushed to the hospital but pronounced dead. Surveillance footage of the high-speed collision has also been released.

The accident happened around 4:00 PM, involving 26-year-old male driver Li, his 29-year-old wife, and their two 4-year-old children. Li reportedly lost control on the express lane of Heng Highway, colliding with the right rear of a cement mixer truck before being thrown into two motorcycles stopped at a red light. The crash injured seven people in total.

Footage from nearby surveillance cameras showed the Tesla racing past the truck, spinning out and striking the motorcycles before finally coming to a halt after hitting a roadside billboard. The motorcyclists attempted to evade the collision but were still affected.

The Tesla was almost completely destroyed, with severe deformation of the body panels and exposed mechanical parts, while debris was scattered across the road. Li was trapped inside the vehicle and later pronounced dead at the hospital, while his wife sustained open fractures in both legs and is conscious and receiving medical treatment.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and have urged drivers to stay alert, maintain safe speeds, and be aware of surrounding traffic to prevent similar accidents.
