11-Year-Old Took the Wheel During Mom’s Quick Bathroom Break

Date:

A mother’s quick trip to the restroom turned into an unexpected adventure when she returned to find her car—and her children—missing in Klang, Malaysia.

On July 19, around 10 a.m., the woman parked her Proton Saga on Jalan Telok Gong and stepped away briefly to use a public toilet while on her way to visit her sister.

During that short moment, her 11-year-old son took the wheel, bringing along his 7-year-old sibling and their Malaysian cousin for an impromptu drive to a nearby shop.

According to South Klang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ramli Kasa, both children are registered cardholders under the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The boy drove approximately 2 kilometers before losing control near the shop, causing the car to skid off the road and land in a drain.

Fortunately, nobody was injured, and the car only suffered minor damage. The incident serves as a reminder to keep a close watch on young children near vehicles to prevent such surprises.
