A 12-year-old schoolgirl was found traumatized in a wooded area near her school yesterday after an ordeal that lasted several hours. The victim is believed to have been sexually assaulted and photographed by an unidentified man before being abandoned.
The incident was first reported when teachers noticed the student failed to attend her 1:05 PM extra classes. A review of the school’s CCTV footage confirmed that the girl had left the school grounds around midday.
According to sources, the victim explained that she walked toward a vehicle she mistook for her mother’s, but fled when she realized the driver was a stranger.
The suspect allegedly pursued the girl into nearby bushes where she tried to hide. The victim claimed the man ordered her to remove her school uniform, touched her, and took several photos of her with a mobile phone before fleeing the scene.
After a frantic search by her family, she was discovered at 7:00 PM lying in the brush, visibly shaken and crying. She was immediately transported to Melaka Hospital for medical examination and treatment.
Police investigations are currently underway to track down the suspect.
