A 13-year-old teenager was rescued after a fire broke out at an apartment unit in Sri Pulai, Puchong, early this morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the teenager was found and rescued from one of the rooms during the firefighting operation.
He said the fire involved a third-floor apartment unit in Block A of the Sri Pulai Apartments, with an estimated floor area of 800 square feet. About 80 per cent of the unit was damaged in the incident.
The department received an emergency call at 6.59am and fire crews from the Puchong Fire and Rescue Station were immediately dispatched to the scene, with additional support from the Cyberjaya station. Firefighters arrived at the location at 7.09am.
“The fire was successfully brought under control at 7.33am,” he said, adding that eight personnel were involved in the operation, supported by two fire engines, a water tanker and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle.
