14-Year-Old Girl Found Safe After Eloping With 47-Year-Old Man Met Online

Date:

A 14-year-old girl who went missing for nearly five days has been found safe in Batu Pahat, Johor, after allegedly running away from her home in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur to be with a 47-year-old man she met through an online game.

The teenager had reportedly formed a relationship with the man after meeting him in-game, eventually meeting up with him in person. Her father, Mr. Huang, who works in Singapore, said the family first became aware of the relationship when a friend of his sister spotted the girl getting into a white SUV and took photos as evidence.

When confronted, the girl admitted that the man was her boyfriend and claimed he had promised her extravagant gifts, including the SUV and a house. In a separate encounter, Mr. Huang’s sister confronted the man at their home and demanded to see his IC, revealing his real age — 47. The man insisted they were “just friends” and that he was willing to wait for her to grow up.

Mr. Huang, alarmed by the deepening relationship, returned to Malaysia and tried to convince his daughter to break off contact. He noted that she had begun returning home late at night, and family members noticed kiss marks on her neck. A police report was filed two weeks prior to her disappearance.

Although the girl appeared to return to normal behavior for a short time, she vanished again shortly after. On the day she disappeared, she claimed she was heading to school, but never arrived. The family only discovered her absence when they tried to pick her up after class and were informed she hadn’t attended at all.

Concerned for her safety, Mr. Huang visited the man’s listed address in Batu Pahat, only to learn the property had been sold and the man had allegedly scammed a local woman out of more than RM10,000 and was in debt to loan sharks.

Fortunately, the girl was eventually located by the police and brought home safely. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
