A 15-year-old local girl suffered serious injuries after falling from a condominium building in Gelugor on Sunday.
Northeast District Deputy Police Chief, Superintendent Lee Swee Sake, said police were alerted to the incident by a member of the public around 1:15 p.m. Initial investigations suggest the girl fell from her bedroom on the 10th floor and was later found lying on the 7th floor of the condominium at approximately 1:05 p.m.
“The victim sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Penang Hospital for further treatment. She is currently in the intensive care unit and remains unconscious. Statements will be recorded once she regains consciousness,” Lee said in a statement on Monday.
He added that police have found no criminal elements linked to the incident so far and urged the public not to speculate while investigations continue.
