A 15-year-old boy was killed on the spot after his motorcycle collided head-on with a lorry making a turn in a residential area.
Kluang district police chief ACP Bahrin Mohd Noh confirmed in a statement today that the fatal accident occurred at about 7:20 pm yesterday along Jalan Chempaka 17 in Taman Suria, involving a motorcycle and a white lorry.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the teenager was riding towards Jalan Haji Manan when the white lorry, coming from the opposite direction, attempted to turn left into Jalan Chempaka 17. The sudden turn left the rider with no time to avoid the collision, resulting in the crash.
The victim, identified as Zulkriwandi, a student of SMK Seri Perdana in Kluang, suffered severe head and body injuries and died at the scene.
Bahrin said the boy did not possess a valid driving licence. The 68-year-old lorry driver, identified as Lee Chee Keong (translated), tested negative for drugs in a urine test but has been detained to assist in the investigation.
Police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by dangerous driving.
