16-Year-Old Teen Ordered 100 Hours Community Service For Injuring Former Dang Wangi Police Chief

Date:

A 16-year-old boy who injured former Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman, in an incident at Kampung Sungai Baru has been sentenced to 100 hours of community service by the Magistrate’s Court here.

The teenager’s lawyer, Muhammad Najib Ahmad, confirmed the sentence after a closed-door proceeding before Magistrate Nurfarahain Roslan. The community service must be completed within six months under the supervision of the Social Welfare Department (JKM).

During the proceedings, the defence had requested a warning for the juvenile, while the prosecution urged the court to impose community service. The magistrate advised the teen not to repeat the offence.

The youth was charged with intentionally causing hurt to intimidate Sulizmie Affendy while he was performing his duties as a police officer. The offence occurred at Jalan Datuk Abdul Malik, Kampung Sungai Baru, between 10:50 a.m. and 11:14 a.m. on 11 September 2025, under Section 332 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of three years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both.

Previously, six other individuals involved in the same incident were fined RM3,500 in separate Magistrate’s Court proceedings for participating in an unlawful assembly.

The incident, reported on 11 September, saw Sulizmie Affendy sustaining head injuries after being struck by objects thrown during a crowd clash while overseeing an electricity cut-off operation at several homes, carried out following a court order related to house demolition proceedings in the area.
