In Cangnan County, Zhejiang Province, a 28-year-old mother was found dead in her home, leaving her 2-year-old son alone with her body for several days before neighbors discovered him. Thankfully, the boy was unharmed after a medical check-up, and police have since contacted his family to take over his care.
According to Chinese media, the mother had divorced her husband and was raising the child on her own before her sudden death. On August 17, neighbors found the little boy beside his mother’s body and quickly alerted authorities.
Witnesses at the hospital said the child, still too young to speak much, sat quietly by himself. When discovered, he was covered in urine and feces until neighbors stepped in to clean him.
Police have since reached the boy’s father, who will now assume custody. The cause of the mother’s death is still under investigation.
