A murder investigation has been launched after a young man was fatally stabbed in south-east London.
Police were called to Hither Green Lane by the London Ambulance Service at around 3:20 p.m. today. Paramedics treated the man, believed to be in his 20s, at the scene before rushing him to hospital, where he later died. His family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
Superintendent Nick Jowett, of the Met’s Royal Borough of Greenwich policing team, said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this distressing time. While the investigation is still in its early stages, detectives are working quickly to identify those responsible for this senseless attack.”
