A surprise multi-agency raid at a health centre on Jalan Raja Laut in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday night resulted in the arrest of 201 men, following allegations of immoral activities believed to have been ongoing for eight months.
The operation, which began at around 8 PM, was jointly carried out by the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI).
According to Deputy Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Mohd Azani Omar, those detained were aged between 19 and 60 and included 17 civil servants, among them a surgeon, a Deputy Public Prosecutor, an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer, a teacher, and several enforcement agency personnel.
Authorities said they had been monitoring the two-storey premises for approximately two weeks following public complaints. The centre was reportedly operating as a gym, sauna, spa, swimming pool and rest lounge for men, and is believed to have been promoted on social media.
Investigators allege that the facility hosted activities deemed immoral, charging RM10 for lifetime registration and RM35 per visit.
Police confirmed that foreign nationals from South Korea, Indonesia, Germany and China were among those detained. The case is being investigated under Section 387B of the Penal Code, relating to offences involving unnatural sex acts.
Separately, 80 Muslim men were arrested under Section 29 of the Syariah Criminal Offences Act (Act 559) for allegedly behaving indecently in a public place.
The premises reportedly operated daily from 5 PM until late, claiming to offer a space for relaxation after working hours. It was said to be known among certain circles, with some patrons allegedly describing the services as “special.”
All detainees have been brought to the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters for further investigation.
