23 Motorcycles Impounded In Op Samseng Jalanan At Kampung Terus

Date:

Police seized 23 motorcycles during an Op Motosikal Samseng Jalanan operation aimed at curbing illegal racing activities along Jalan Guar Kering, Kampung Terus, here on Monday.

Seberang Perai Tengah District Police Headquarters (IPD SPT) said in a Facebook statement that the operation was carried out following public complaints regarding the dangerous activities at the location.

According to police, the operation focused on a group of teenagers believed to frequently gather at the area for illegal racing, performing stunts such as “wheelies”, and using modified exhaust systems that disturbed public peace.

During the operation, a total of 60 motorcycles were inspected, with 110 summonses issued for various traffic offences.

Police also seized 23 motorcycles under Section 64(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The operation was conducted by the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of IPD Seberang Perai Tengah with assistance from the Kubang Semang Police Station.

Authorities stressed that illegal street racing activities not only endanger the riders themselves but also pose serious risks to other road users.

Police said enforcement efforts will continue from time to time to ensure public safety and order are maintained.

Parents and guardians were also urged to monitor their children’s activities to prevent them from becoming involved in dangerous behaviour that could lead to accidents or legal action.
