3.4 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Areas Near Segamat, Residents Feel Tremors

A weak earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale struck the Pagoh area, about 16 kilometres from Segamat, Johor, at 8.55am today.

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the quake had a depth of approximately 10 kilometres, with its epicentre located at latitude 2.4° North and longitude 102.7° East, about 16 kilometres southeast of Segamat.

The department said residents in parts of Johor and Melaka reported feeling mild tremors.

Members of the public who experienced the shaking are encouraged to provide feedback by completing the official online questionnaire to assist authorities in collecting data and conducting further analysis.
