30-Year-Old Son Attacks And Injures Parents with Samurai Sword!

A 30-year-old man was charged in the Sessions Court here on Friday with injuring his parents using a samurai sword last December.

Muhammad Aiman Suhaimi pleaded not guilty to two charges read before Judge Ainul Shahrin Mohamad.

He is accused of causing grievous injuries to his father, Suhaimi Dawi, 58, and his mother, Shahaliza Ahmad Hashim, 58, at their home in Bandar Baru Putra, Kinta, at around 6:30am on December 26.

The prosecution is under Sections 326/326A of the Penal Code, which carry a maximum jail term of 20 years, a fine, or whipping. Section 326A allows for a sentence of up to double the maximum if convicted.

Deputy Public Prosecutor M. Raveenaa did not offer bail and requested that Muhammad Aiman, who is unrepresented, be referred to Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta for a mental health evaluation.

The court approved the request and set the case for mention on January 30.

Police confirmed that on December 26, they arrested a man for attacking and injuring two family members at a home in Bandar Baru Putra.
