33-Year-Old Mechanic Dies After Motorcycle Collides with Car and Bike

Date:

A mechanic tragically died after his motorcycle reportedly went out of control and collided with a car and another motorcycle early this morning.

S Arun, 33, from Taman Suria, Labis, Johor, was pronounced dead at the scene around 1:42 a.m. at Kilometer 197.8 on the northbound North–South Expressway.

Acting Alor Gajah District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Azrul Mohamed, said the victim was riding a Yamaha 135LC to Kuala Lumpur when his motorcycle crashed into the rear right side of a Honda CR-V driven by a 63-year-old retired police officer in the left lane.

“The impact caused the victim’s motorcycle to be thrown and dragged into the right lane, where it struck another Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle,” he explained.

Arun suffered severe head injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene by Ministry of Health personnel. The second motorcyclist, a 29-year-old factory worker, sustained a broken left finger and was sent to Alor Gajah Hospital for treatment. The SUV driver was uninjured.

The victim’s body has been sent to the hospital’s Forensic Unit for post-mortem, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
