A shocking incident in Houston has left a family devastated after a 34-year-old man collapsed at a steakhouse but was allegedly dragged outside instead of receiving help.
According to international media reports, the tragedy occurred on August 7. Jessie Mobley Jr., 34, went alone to a local steakhouse in Houston when he suddenly collapsed while eating. Instead of calling emergency services, staff reportedly dragged him out of the restaurant.
The next morning, students from a nearby beauty school found Mobley’s lifeless body propped against a wall. One side of his body had turned purple and was covered with ants, creating a horrifying scene.
His parents, Jessie Mobley Sr. and Renee Mobley, said they were stunned and heartbroken when they learned of his death and saw his condition at the scene. “He had already turned purple and showed signs of decay,” his father said.
Adding to their grief, the family said they still have no official cause of death a month after the incident.
Local police told reporters the restaurant often serves free meals to people in need and that staff may have mistaken Mobley for a homeless person, which is why they moved him outside without notifying authorities. The case is still under investigation. Police said the probe would be closed quickly if the death is determined to be from natural causes.
Mobley’s parents believe their son might still be alive if someone had helped him. They have since launched a fundraiser to seek support as they cope with their loss.
