A 43-year-old Chinese-Malaysian doctor is under investigation for allegedly molesting four female patients in separate incidents. Police confirmed that after being arrested for the earlier cases, the suspect was transferred to a government clinic. The fourth incident, however, took place at a private clinic where he worked part-time.
Penang Deputy Police Chief Datuk Mohamad Alwi revealed that the doctor has been arrested for the fourth time, with the latest arrest taking place on July 21. The earlier three cases occurred in the Northeast District and have been investigated, with reports submitted to the Attorney General’s Chambers. However, the chambers have since requested further investigation, citing incomplete information.
The fourth case, currently under investigation, happened in the Southwest District.
The suspect previously worked at Penang General Hospital. Following the initial allegations, he was reassigned to a government clinic. When asked if his medical license had been revoked, Mohamad Alwi said that confirmation must come from the Ministry of Health.
Previous reports state the doctor was arrested three times earlier for misconduct at one hospital and two private clinics in the Northeast District:
- Case 1: A 21-year-old woman reported being molested during a heart examination at a hospital. She was instructed to remove her clothing, believing it was part of standard procedure. The doctor locked the room and no female nurse was present.
- Case 2: A 30-year-old woman alleged inappropriate conduct during a visit to a private clinic in Pulau Tikus to collect her blood test report. The doctor reportedly told her to undress and jog in place for further assessment, then allegedly took photos of her body with his phone.
- Case 3: Another victim reported the doctor falsely diagnosed her with a heart condition, instructed her to jog in place without clothing, and allegedly took photos of her.
- Case 4: The latest case occurred on June 29 at a private clinic in Bayan Baru. A woman seeking treatment for abdominal pain claimed the doctor instructed her to remove her top and then touched her breasts. She filed a police report on July 18. The doctor was arrested on July 21 after being summoned to the police station. His phone was also seized for investigation.
Police investigations into all four incidents are ongoing.
