A 62-year-old man was killed after he was believed to have been stabbed by his own son in an incident at an apartment in Bandar Permaisuri, Cheras, early Saturday morning.
Cheras Deputy District Police Chief, Superintendent Ridzuan Khalid, said police received a report of the incident at 3:01 a.m.
“The victim was found lying in the living room of his residence with stab wounds. His body was later sent to the Forensic Unit at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) Cheras for a post-mortem examination,” he said in a statement.
Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of a 24-year-old man, who was confirmed to be the victim’s son.
“Police are still investigating to determine the actual motive of the incident. The suspect has been remanded for seven days from September 13 to 19 to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” he added.
