74-Year-Old Washed Ashore, Police Launch Investigation

An elderly man’s body was discovered washed ashore at Batu Buruk Recreational Beach around 6 p.m. today.

Muhammad Tarmimi Che Musa, Operations Officer at the Terengganu Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), said authorities received a public report at 6:15 p.m., prompting a team of five personnel from the local fire station, led by PBK I KUP Mohd Syaiful Fitri Ali, to rush to the scene.

Upon arrival, rescuers found a man stranded on the shoreline, who was later confirmed dead by the Ministry of Health (KKM).

Preliminary checks identified the deceased as 74-year-old Soh Eng Sin, residing at 1677 Jalan 2, Taman Padang Midin, Kuala Terengganu. The body was handed over to police for further investigation.

Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief, ACP Azli Mohd Noor, confirmed the discovery and said investigations are ongoing, with an autopsy scheduled for tomorrow morning.
