An officer from the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) was injured after his hand was slashed with a knife during an operation at a car wash premises in Bangsar on Wednesday.
In the 5.08pm incident, the 48-year-old victim sustained injuries to the palm and thumb of his right hand.
Brickfields district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook said police received a report on the incident from the victim’s colleague, who is also an AADK officer.
He said the suspect had initially been detained and instructed to undergo a urine screening test but refused to cooperate before turning aggressive in an attempt to escape.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) and is reported to be in stable condition.
The suspect, a 46-year-old man from Cheras, is still being tracked down, with efforts underway to locate him.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
