Three people were killed in a tragic road accident involving two lorries and a car along Jalan Senai–Seelong yesterday afternoon.
Kulai district police chief ACP Tan Seng Lee said the collision occurred at about 4.15 pm when a lorry rear-ended a Perodua Bezza carrying a 68-year-old male driver and three women aged between 65 and 87.
“The impact pushed both vehicles into the opposite lane, where they crashed into another oncoming lorry driven by a 23-year-old man,” he said in a statement today.
The 23-year-old lorry driver died at the scene, while the driver of the first lorry and a female passenger from the Bezza passed away while receiving treatment at Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital.
The Bezza driver and two other female passengers were taken to Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru, for further treatment.
Police are appealing for witnesses and additional information. Those who can assist the investigation are urged to contact Inspector Ahmad Safuan Abu Naim at 017-7573507 or visit the Kulai District Police Headquarters.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, which involved multiple elderly passengers and resulted in fatalities across both vehicles.
