Businessman Albert Tei was charged in court today with four counts of giving RM176,829.03 to former political secretary to the prime minister, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin.
Tei, 37, pleaded not guilty when the charges were read before Judge Suzana Hussin.
According to the charges, Tei allegedly provided Shamsul with cash and household items on multiple occasions between November 2023 and March 2024. The payments were purportedly made as an inducement for Shamsul to help companies linked to Tei secure mineral exploration licence approvals in Sabah.
