A road rage incident involving a Toyota Alphard and a motorcyclist in Johor Bahru escalated into violence and ended dramatically when the vehicle plunged down a slope, according to multiple videos circulating on social media.
The incident occurred at about 5.58pm yesterday along Jalan Keembong 1, Taman Johor Jaya. A 31-second video that went viral shows a black Toyota Alphard suddenly ramming into a motorcycle parked in front of a house, knocking the bike and its rider — a Chinese man — to the ground.
Following the collision, the motorcyclist was seen confronting the Alphard driver and repeatedly striking the vehicle’s window. Despite this, the visibly agitated driver continued accelerating erratically and failed to stop.
In the middle of the chaos, a woman wearing a helmet and a blue-and-white top rushed towards the vehicle and opened the driver’s door, angrily scolding the driver. Moments later, while the door was still open, the Alphard suddenly reversed at speed, crashed through a roadside barrier and slid down a slope, becoming stuck. The woman narrowly avoided being dragged down the slope with the vehicle.
Subsequent videos that surfaced later in the evening provided more context to the incident. Dashcam footage and bystander recordings showed that prior to the collision, the Alphard driver and the motorcyclist had already been involved in a physical altercation on the narrow residential road. The two men were seen exchanging blows in the middle of the street, with several male residents attempting to intervene and defuse the situation.
Another video showed the Alphard driver re-entering his vehicle before deliberately driving into the motorcycle, knocking the rider — who was wearing a white shirt — and his bike onto the road. The motorcyclist then forcefully opened the vehicle door, leading to another scuffle that culminated in both men and the Alphard ending up down the slope.
The incident continued to fuel online discussion after a netizen identifying himself as “Ah Heng” claimed to be the homeowner at the location and shared his account in the comment section of a newly uploaded video. He alleged that the conflict began when the Alphard driver became impatient while he and his wife were waiting for their automatic gate to open.
According to him, the vehicle nearly hit his wife, triggering a verbal dispute. Although the Alphard initially left the scene, the driver allegedly made a U-turn and returned to continue provoking them, causing the confrontation to escalate into physical violence.
“I admit I was wrong to use my hands, but there is a line — you can touch me, but not my wife or my friends,” he wrote, adding that full CCTV footage from his house would be handed over to the police and media.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation on whether police have opened an investigation into the incident. The videos, however, continue to circulate widely online, with netizens debating the sequence of events and calling for authorities to take action.
