A car unexpectedly rolled backward into a neighbouring house before slowly returning to its original parking spot in a residential area, in an incident that has gone viral online. Netizens have joked about the “hazards of automatic cars” after the shocking footage circulated.
According to the “Community Roda Johor-CRJ” Facebook page, the incident occurred on Tuesday (Feb 3) around 8 a.m. in a housing estate in Johor. Video footage shows the vehicle reversing without warning, crashing into the rear boundary of a neighbouring property, and then inching back to its original location.
The driver remained seated during the incident, and it is unclear whether the handbrake was not engaged or if the accelerator was mistakenly pressed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The clip has drawn widespread attention online, with many joking about the car “parking itself and even returning home.” However, some commentators urged caution, noting that similar accidents in residential areas could result in serious consequences if someone had been outside at the time.
