Port Dickson Bersatu chief Badrul Hisham Shaharin, also known as Chegubard, has confirmed he will present evidence to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) tomorrow regarding alleged corruption involving a senior military officer.
He said he plans to submit information previously shared with the media, along with additional details related to the high-profile case. Badrul will personally attend MACC headquarters at 12 noon on Dec 24.
“I hope my visit will be handled professionally and orderly. I also request a chance to meet MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki in person to provide a full explanation,” he posted on Facebook.
Badrul had earlier claimed that “large cash inflows” were detected in the accounts of a senior military officer and his family members. He lodged a report on the matter at the Dang Wangi police headquarters and stated that Peta would also submit documents to MACC and other authorities under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing, and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act.
He welcomed the Defence Ministry’s support, thanking Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin for allowing authorities to conduct a thorough investigation. Badrul called for decisive action to maintain the integrity of the armed forces, suggesting the Army Chief be suspended until all disclosures are verified.
Tan Sri Azam Baki emphasized that MACC is always open to receiving information and will conduct transparent investigations if solid evidence exists, while Khaled reiterated that any claims must be evidence-based and that the ministry will not compromise on integrity.
Badrul also expressed gratitude to military personnel and veterans nationwide for supporting calls for accountability within the institution.
